We discovered Have a Seat cafe accidentally, when whizzing along the Thung Wua Laen beach on our little scooter. I haven’t had coffee for a couple of days and the need for caffeine was kicking in when my eyes read a sign ‘breakfast, coffee…’
Charlie hit the breaks and we seated ourselves inside the small beach shack. But don’t be deceived by the size or the hut, this is Italian cuisine and drinks served with style on the beach.
I ordered cafe latte on my first visit and it was freshly grounded, only for me! What a treat. It came with a nice smooth foam with a decorative swirl on top. Such a lovely cup of joe!

Thung Wua Laen Beach – Off the Beaten Path
We stayed on this 2 km beautiful unspoilt white sand stretch for 4 nights and had the best time. Apart from reading and swimming in the turquoise water we also rented a motorbike and explored the nearby town.
Here we indulged in the local delights that were not only delicious, but also easy on the wallet. We had a truly fantastic stay!
Just before leaving the beautiful and peaceful Thung Wua Laeang beach in Chumphon, I got Charlie to scoot me back for my last cup of heavenly coffee on the beach.
I really recommend Have a Seat. It’s a great place. The coffee here is made with love and care and cost only 40 THB per cup.
Getting to Thung Wua Laen Beach
The beach is about 12 kilometres from Chumphon Railway Station. The easiest way to get there is to catch a Tuk tuk and you will see a row of these as soon as you walk out of the station. The journey shouldn’t cost you more than 300 THB regardless on the number of passengers.
Make travelling in Thailand super easy with the super friendly 12GoAsia website. Book online and there’s no need to print your tickets, just show them to the station staff before you board on your smartphone. No running around looking for a place to print anything. Nice!
