We booked a tour at our resort in Cayo Guillermo and the next day, early in the morning were taken to a marina in Cayo Coco. With lunch, bottomless drinks and snorkeling equipment included, we were all set for a day out.
Meet the crew – our handsome captain for the day.
We stopped for snorkeling twice at a coral reef. That’s when I found out that I definitely need to work on my snorkeling skills.
It was so much fun jumping into the deep ocean from the catamaran. The captain even made one extra stop, which everyone greatly appreciated. It was really hot on the white deck and a plunge stop was very well received. The water was incredible. It was great to relax, switch off from the world, feel the wind and enjoy the Atlantic vistas.
For lunch, we stopped at a beach with pristine clear water and had some time to explore the coast. After lunch, a few cocktails and all day’s fun, everyone was quietly enjoying the smooth sailing back to Cayo Coco.
Towards the end of our cruise, the mood picked up and we all danced to YMCA with the chef leading the moves. But my favourite bit of the day was being in my happy place – sitting right on the edge of the boat.
