Early in the morning, my friend and I made our way to Las Ramblas in search of the colourful market that our friend told us about. La Boqueria is located in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona and houses everything you can ever need for breakfast, lunch, dinner or, in my case, photography opportunities.
If you think Borough Market in London is good, La Boqueria is a dream come true!
We wandered around for a bit, absorbing all the colours and freshness of the food. I could have spent there all day, but it was extremely busy and I didn’t want to annoy the vendors too much by pointing my camera at every stall.
We bought some amazingly tasty fresh fruit juice and bargained some cheesy and meaty gifts to bring home for our better halves.
After replenishing well with the juice, we stopped at one of the fruit stalls. It took as a while to decide which fruit mix to buy. So in the end, the woman selling the fruit and bored with our indecisiveness said: ‘just close your eyes and pick!”
What a great start to a new day!
