Broadstairs in east Kent is a place I am determined to revisit in a broad daylight. By time we arrived to this lovely coastal town it was late, but I was still really impressed with the setting.
It’s a town with cliffs on either side and seven golden sand bays which sounds wonderful to me. Broadstairs is situated between Margate and Ramsgate (another two places on the list) on the Isle of Thanet, 80 miles east of London. A fair trot, but Broadstairs absolutely needs my second observation.
The place is known as Jewel in Thanet’s crown. The Isle of Thanet used to be separated from the mainland by the river Wantsum, but not anymore and It’s no longer an island. Fascinating!
